Joe's Italian Marketplace (Fishkill, NY)

Joe's Italian Marketplace in Fishkill, New York is James' favorite deli. Every time we visit his family we make it a point to stop by, say hi, and have one of their delicious sandwiches!

This time while at Joe's Italian Marketplace we had a Bubba, which is a sandwich on a kaiser roll with eggplant, mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, and balsamic oil. This is one tasty sandwich! Ironically enough, James' mom ordered a 3 foot long Bubba from Joe's Italian Marketplace for the party she was throwing later that afternoon. We shared a Bubba at the deli, had a couple more pieces at the party, and had some leftovers for lunch the next day. Yes, this sandwich is that good!

When James moved to Boston, a year and a half ago, he brought with him an array of sausages from Joe's Italian Marketplace, which ran out about a month ago. Therefore, this time around we also stopped by to pickup some sausages (hot and sweet with fennel). Sausages from Joe's Italian Marketplace are full of spices and flavor; so far we have not found sausages as good as these in Boston. The other night we defrosted three links of sweet sausage, browned them in a pan, and popped them in the oven to finish cooking. We had them on a baguette with peppers and onions. They were delicious!

Joe's Italian Marketplace is a great deli. Anyone near Fishkill, New York should give it a try or even if you are not's worth the detour!
