Thai Moon (Arlington)

Yesterday Aida was in Arlington taking some tests. We haven't spent much time in Arlington, so during Aida's lunch break we decided to explore the area. While exploring we discovered Thai Moon, an incredibly affordable Thai restaurant that serves amazing food!  Aida had another long test that afternoon so she needed a filling meal, Thai Moon served us just that!

To start we decided to order a couple appetizers. First came the Goong Gra Bong, which are deep-fried marinated shrimp wrapped in eggroll sheets. We have to admit we ordered this dish mainly due to its extremly fun to say name. The Goong Gra Bong turned out to be five delicious, very crispy morsels filled with ginger and well seasoned shrimp. We loved the very memorable rush of ginger flavor that hits you when taking the first bite....outstanding!

Next, came the Thai Nuggets, which are deep fried tofu skins filled with ground pork, minced shrimp, and water chestnuts. The flavor of the Thai Nuggets was good, however they were extremely greasy. This was the least successful dish of the meal.

As a main dish we ordered Thai Moon's Siam Fried Rice with stir fried chicken and shrimp, broccoli, onions, tomatoes, and eggs (we ordered ours minus the tomato). For $7.50 this dish is a truly delicious steal. The Siam Fried Rice was by far the best fried rice we have had in a while, definitely a must have when eating at Thai Moon!

Lastly we had one of Thai Moon's gourmet dishes, the Cashew Nuts Chicken, with sautéed mushrooms, onions, pineapple chunks, carrots, scallions, cashew nuts, and cooking wine served with a side of white rice. The best part of this dish was the sauce, it was delicious mixed with the rice! Overall the Cashew Nuts Chicken was a good dish and once again a steal at only $7.50!

We live in Boston however Thai Moon is definitely worth the 30 minute drive to Arlington! Next time we are in the area we know exactly where were are eating...Thai Moon!
