Last night we decided to revisit Georgetown Cupcakes and have a few of their delicious cupcakes. This cupcake shop never disappoints!
Aida had a classic, the Vanilla and Chocolate Birthday Cake Cupcake. This was a well made, moist, flavorful cupcake. It is the perfect balance of vanilla to chocolate!

James is a caramel lover and so he ordered the Salted Caramel, which is a caramel cupcake with a salted caramel infused buttercream topped with a drizzle of caramel. Unlike other "designer" cupcakes we've had, the buttercream was not gritty, instead it was smooth and creamy. The cake itself was moist and packed with delicious caramel flavor!
Aida ordered the Peanut Butter Fudge, which is a valrhona chocolate cupcake filled with fudge topped with a peanut butter frosting and fudge drizzle. The frosting was by far the best part of this cupcake. It was like having a spoonful of the creamiest peanut butter available! The cake was moist and full of chocolate flavor. The balance of flavors was perfect, just like having a peanut butter cup!
Lastly, we split Georgetown Cupcake's signature Red Velvet cupcake, wich is a classic red velvet cupcake topped with a vanilla cream cheese frosting and a red fondant heart. Even though it is their signature cupcake we were not impressed. It was not a bad cupcake; the cake was moist and the cream cheese frosting was not overpowering. However, there was nothing about it that made us go wow!
Overall, Georgetown Cupcakes lives up to the hype. The prices were surprisingly reasonable at $2.75 a cupcake. Their menu varies depending on the day, so expect something different every time you walk in. We would definitely be tempted to return for their Salted Caramel and Peanut Butter Fudge cupcakes!
