Cakeology

We first heard of Cakeology while watching an episode of Food Network's Cupcake Wars. We've walked by this small cupcake store on a number of occasion but have never caught them open. 
Last Saturday we got lucky! 
Cakeology did not have as many cupcake flavors available as some of their other competitors. As soon as we walked in we saw a large tray of what looked like peanut butter cup cupcakes, when we asked to have one we were told, in a rather rude manner, that they were for a special order and not for sale. Why would you have something so delicious looking, sitting in front of your costumers if they are not meant for them?

Nevertheless, we decided to take some cupcakes to go. We choose Cakeology's Vanilla Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Boston Cream Pie, and Double Chocolate cupcakes. 
These were deliciously moist cupcakes: one of the best we've ever had! 

The Vanilla Vanilla was full of visible vanilla bean flavor. 


The Double Chocolate had the perfect amount of chocolate without being overpowering. 


The Salted Caramel cupcake was deliciously moist and full of caramel flavor. The "cracker jack" topping brought back childhood memories and added a nice crunchiness to the cupcake. 


Last but not least, came the Boston Cream Pie cupcake. Unfortunately, there wasn't any detectable cream to be found inside this cupcake. The best part of a Boston Cream Pie is the cream, therefore this cupcake might as well be called a regular vanilla cupcake with chocolate ganache. 


Cakeology charges more for a cupcake than any cupcake shop we've visited. However, the extra dough is worth it, especially if you are having either their Vanilla Vanilla or Salted Caramel cupcakes.
