Last week we decided to take a mid-week stroll around Boston's North End. Craving something simple and affordable we wandered past the well-known Hanover Street onto Salem Street, there we found a hidden gem. Ernesto's Pizza caught our eye mainly because there was no waiting line; the banner hanging high above the street clamming they serve "Boston's biggest slice" also helped.
Ernesto's Pizza slices are indeed gigantic, a slice from Ernesto's is about twice the size of a normal pizza slice. Their pizza is exactly what we expect good pizza to be: it is flavorful, with a crispy crust, and an abundance of toppings. Their pizza case is an immediate eye catcher.
We ordered three slices of Ernesto's Pizza. The Hawaiian had great flavor topped with ham and small pieces of pineapple; it was not super sweet. The Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza was full of bacon and chicken flavor, however we would have liked a bit more ranch in the mix. Last but not least, the Ricotta Eggplant was delicious, the eggplant was not overly breaded and the flavor balanced perfectly with the seasoned ricotta.

Overall Ernesto's Pizza was a great surprise! Not only is the pizza great but their prices are extremely reasonable. For three massive slices of pizza and a fountain drink we payed $20. Next time we are around the North End we will be giving Ernesto's Pizza another visit!
